Formal wear has always been a favorite of mine, and I have been searching for nearly two years for a pair of navy strappy sandals to wear with my navy sequined jacket and chiffon skirt. Then, exactly on a day when I wasn't really looking ( I had given up, frankly), Charlotte and I decided to stop by the local shoe warehouse store and just sample the wares. To my surprise, when I cruised by the size 12 rack I spied these lovely navy blue satin sandals with ankle straps. I just about fell over two other customers trying to get my hands on them! In addition to the ankle straps, they feature a 4 inch "cuban style" heel. Needless to say I don't need the additional height a 4 inch heel gives, but these shoes were far too lovely to leave in the store. I wore them for the first time while attending the Southern Comfort Conference in September, 2001 and they were great fun to wear and made my formal gown that much more feminine.

I have always had a weakness for ankle straps!
